Lil Wayne Announces Release Date For "Tha Carter V"

dropping very soon, possibly as a surprise. Well so much for that idea, because on Friday night, Drake announced when we can expect to hear the new album.

Performing at Sprite’s NBA All-Star concert at New Orleans' House Of Blues, Drake took the stage and revealed that Tha Carter V will be released on May 5th. Drizzy announced: “Carter V May 5th, that’s all we focused on,” before performing “HYFR” with special guest Lil Wayne himself .

The news broke early Saturday morning from multiple sources who were live tweeting from the event. And according to Karen Civil, Weezy is supposedly 6/8 songs into the album already. With all that said, we can probably expect to hear a new single sooner than later from the Best Rapper Alive.
